Drachten-based Nij Smellinghe is on track to become the first existing Dutch hospital to operate at scale on a heat battery, going fully gas-free in 2027. As one of the country's most visible healthcare-FM decarbonisation cases, it sets a useful benchmark for what 'gas-free' can mean in clinical estate.
