Maastricht UMC+ has bought a 1.8 km mobile flood barrier together with Waterschap Limburg and the city of Maastricht, after concluding the hospital cannot evacuate during high-water events. The investment is one of the most concrete examples in Dutch healthcare FM of climate adaptation moving from policy paper to operational kit.
